Can You Drive When Using CBD Supplements?
‘Can you drive on CBD Oil?’ is a common question that people search for on Google. From our own experience and due to how CBD works, we have known for a long time that the answer is yes. CBD is non-intoxicating and does not impair cognitive performance. In fact, it’s probably fair to say that Cannabidiol’s calming abilities have the potential to improve driving.
However, until a good quality study is undertaken, no one knows for certain. Luckily for us, a new study from the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics has now shed further light on the subject.
In order to understand the impact that cannabidiol and THC have on driving, 26 participants were instructed to vapourise the following:
- A placebo
- 13.75mg of THC
- 13.75mg of CBD
- 13.75mg of CBD/THC
After inhalation, the participants were required to drive 100km both 40 minutes and four hours later.
The findings concluded that THC and the THC-CBD mixture did have a mildly negative impact on driving 40 minutes after, but not 4 hours after administration. With the impact of the THC-CBD mixture being less significant than THC alone.
CBD, however, had no negative impact on driving. Proving what the cannabinoid industry had been advising customers from the start.
Studies like this go a long way in providing real evidence to clear up misconceptions and help strengthen the future of cannabinoid-based wellbeing enhancement. Here at BROWN’S CBD, we carefully monitor the latest advancements to ensure that we provide the best possible products and advice for our customers.
