What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of over 100 naturally occurring cannabinoids found in Cannabis or Hemp plants. For those of you who don’t know already, Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa L plant which tends to have low levels of THC and high levels of CBD. Unlike THC, CBD will not get you high and studies have found that it is perfectly safe for regular human consumption.

A cannabinoid is any chemical that binds to or affects cannabinoid receptors such as CB1 and CB2 in the brain and body. The three main groups of cannabinoids are phytocannabinoids, endocannabinoids and synthetic cannabinoids.

Phytocannabinoids are cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Sativa L plant, however, cannabinoids in fresh plant matter are in acidic forms such as: CBDA, THCA, CBCA and CBGA. When these acidic forms are exposed to heat or light, they transform into CBD, THC, CBC and CBG. This transformation is known as decarboxylation.

Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that are produced naturally within the bodies of nearly every animal organism. The two most important endocannabinoids are anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol. Endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors are the two pillars of the endocannabinoid system, which controls vital bodily functions such as our immune system, mood, memory, appetite, sleep patterns and pain. Interestingly, CBD has a very similar chemical structure to anandamide.

The final group, synthetic cannabinoids, are as the name suggests, cannabinoids that have been produced synthetically in a laboratory. One example of a synthetic cannabinoid is dronabinol which is the active ingredient in MARINOL, a medicine that has been used to prevent nausea, vomiting, weight-loss and loss of appetite.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The Endocannabinoid System is a network of receptors which are present throughout the human body. It controls vital bodily functions such as our immune system, mood, memory, appetite, sleep patterns and pain. Interestingly, CBD has a very similar chemical structure to anandamide, which plays a key role in regulating the endocannabinoid system.

Can CBD help with anxiety, depression, stress, pain, PTSD, or high blood pressure?

What's inside the bottle?

We like to keep our oils as simple and natural as possible so our bottles contain nothing but full spectrum CBD extract and organic cold-pressed hemp seed oil. 100% natural and all from the same plant!

What are the benefits of hemp seed oil?

Hemp seed oil is known as "nature's most perfectly balanced oil" due to its perfect 3:1 ratio of essential fatty acids (EFAs) which are essential for human health. This makes it an excellent contribution to a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Why is whole plant or full spectrum CBD better than CBD isolate?
Whole plant or full spectrum CBD allows the user to benefit from the 'entourage effect', which is when multiple active ingredients work in synergy to create a more powerful effect. Whole plant or full spectrum CBD contains trace elements of THC, CBDV, CBG, CBC, CBDA and terpenoids. CBD isolate is just pure CBD.

What is CO2 extraction?

CO2 extraction uses pressurised carbon dioxide to extract cannabinoids and other phytochemicals from the plant. It requires highly expensive machinery and is the cleanest, safest, most effective and most environmentally friendly method of extracting CBD. All of our oils are produced using custom-built CO2 extraction equipment specifically designed for optimum purity and potency.

The size of the bottle doesn't matter if the CBD content is the same. If your optimum dose is 10mg, you would need 2 drops of a 1000mg, 10ml bottle.  To get the same dose from a 1000mg, 30ml bottle you would need roughly 6 drops. In the end, the two bottles would last the same amount of time.

What is the difference between CBD Oil and CBD Hemp Oil?

CBD Hemp Oil
is made using a mixture of CBD extract and hemp seed oil. If a CBD oil is made using these same ingredients then it would be the same product as CBD Hemp Oil. However, other CBD oils could be made using olive or coconut oil. Be cautious of products named 'Hemp Oil' as in some cases they are just hemp seed oil with no CBD content. The CBD content should be clearly visible on the label.
